Welcome to the seminar for eVTOL and drone ports

ELIS invites to a seminar where we present the outcome of two innovative projects aimed to accelerate the introduction of electric vertical take off and landing aircraft (eVTOLs) and drones in the transport system.

Welcome to the seminar for eVTOL and drone ports

Welcome to a seminar where we will present the results from two projects regarding eVTOL and drone ports

Date: February 15
Time: 9:00-12:00
Place: On site at Skellefteå Science Park or digitally

Test track for eVTOL

This project has investigated opportunities and challenges in the air and on the ground for eVTOL flights between Northvolt ETT and Skellefteå Airport.

Logistic Center with drone port

This project has examined the opportunity of establishing a drone port at a brand new logistic site being built in Skellefteå at Hammarängen.

This is an opportunity to understand the development towards electric aviation and use of drones in Skellefteå and the wider region. Join us on this day as we share new knowledge uncovered through the two projects, lessons learned and the way forward.

The future of urban droneports is being built in Skellefteå

21 November 2024

Building a large urban droneport in a subarctic climate is an innovative project with no direct templates or guidelines. After extensive planning, the site is now paved and the buildings are in place, but some work remains before one of Europe’s largest urban drone airports can be inaugurated.

Skellefteå Droneport Receives Low-Impact Climate Asphalt

21 October 2024

The take-off and landing area and surrounding areas have now been paved with materials that significantly reduce climate impact. By using Asfalt Zero – a climate-smart asphalt made with pine oil – Skellefteå is setting an example for environmentally friendly infrastructure.

Unique development environment for drones

01 October 2024

It started with an idea on a post-it note two years ago, and by the end of this year, the idea will become a reality. Skellefteå Droneport is one of the first droneports in Europe being built in an urban environment. The Droneport will be a physical space for development, research, education, and  commercialization of drone-related solutions.
